The one who created you knows you wholly
Grow into that person even if you only know yourself partly
That the other half of you is secured tightly
To the one who holds your future
The One who knows you fully.
You allow us to go through life
That’s what a loving father does
You don’t push, you don’t shove
We grow in natural light.
You let us take steps at our own pace
You give as an expanse to grow in our own space
Other times we deliberately run the race
To act as your lovely daughters
Fearless, courageous, abounding in grace.
You let us be and gently lead us
Along the dangerous paths we take
You knew that at the end
Your daughters are lovely
Fearless, courageous, and full of grace.
Dear, dear Corinthians, I can’t tell you how much I long for you to enter this wide-open, spacious life. We didn’t fence you in. The smallness you feel comes from within you. Your lives aren’t small, but you’re living them in a small way. I’m speaking as plainly as I can and with great affection. Open up your lives. Live openly and expansively! 2 Corinthians 6:11-13
