She comes marching to the house and slammed the door behind her. She looks deflated from her usually bubbly self. She dropped her body onto the couch and laid silent. I almost forgot she was there while I started prepping dinner. “I’m done. I want all of these to be over.” She softly announced, more to herself than to anyone.
But that is the same job that you have been asking for when you got rid of the other one. You were looking forward to start anew. Was it just a few weeks ago when you pulled your car with a sense of fulfillment and sighed “thank you Lord, I have a new life.”
You checked this Women’s Padded Sports Bra in Amazon and added to your cart. One of each available color because you thought it’s just about right. You might as well buy the best brand, durable enough to last for a long time. When you opened the box, it’s not fitting on your size. It’s not as supporting as the reviews say it was.
School at home these days pose a challenging play. How can you teach her Precalculus when you barely made it there. Its unimaginable how you can grab their attention to stay on a video call and watch them participate. ABCs are pretty much okay but not when you help out to spell onomatopoeia.
When you jump back to your car and drive home with your frustration. Or you have waited in expectation to receive something that is so wrong. Or what you have given in your attention is not well reciprocated. Before you say a word to air your frustration. You may still be from afar or turning at the corner. God is waiting for you before you pull up your car. His ears are open, he can’t wait for you to voice your complaint. He wants to hear you utter it, loud and clear. He’s got you back covered before you even say a word.
You can get frustrated but you are not the frustration. We all go through disappointment but we are not disappointing. It’s comforting to know that somebody understands our thoughts better than anyone.Your words are not calculated.Your actions are not judged prematurely. You are talking exclusively to an audience of one.
Make your requests known. Give him all you’ve got. We can freely come to our Maker and we have nothing to camouflage. We can’t cover up our frustrations. He knows us so well. Right before you say it, he knows what’s in your heart.
O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word comes out of my tongue, Lord you know it completely. Psalms 139:1-3
